Welcome to our blog!

Lansdowne Area Residents' Association (LARA) was established more than ten years ago to provide a communal voice for residents in the area. Historically part of Brunswick Town, the majority of the properties are grade II listed. We use this blog to publish and share the latest news from our neighborhood.

NEXT MEETING!

Sunday 18 April 2010

Brunswick and Regency Neighbourhood Action Group (NAG) awarded Lansdowne Area Residents' Association (LARA) a grant for trees and plants to improve Lansdowne Street.

Here is a picture of the tree planting with a resident and workers from Brighton and Hove City Council, who installed and provided the tubs.

The trees are Loquats (Eriobotrya Japonica), which have bold pointed dark green leaves with white flowers and orange yellow fruit.

Thanks to everyone involved!

BRUNSWICK TOWN IN BLOOM!

Brunswick Town (of which LARA is a part) is entered for the South East in Bloom competition for the best Urban Community.

Judging takes place on the 12th of July, and the route is being decided. Marks are not only awarded for flowers and shrubs, but for community and business interest and support, and for an improved environment such as clean streets and litter free roads and pavements.

So HELP is needed from everyone!
