POLICE REMINDER!

Sussex police would like to remind people to make sure their homes are secure with the clocks going back. Burglars are usually opportunists and will take any lucky chance that they are confronted with – leaving windows and doors open increases their opportunities.

Homeowners are reminded to double-check the security of their home and install timer switches. People should ensure that: when going out, all windows and external doors are locked, using the keys, When going to bed, secure all windows and key-lock front and back doors, removing keys from view. Items of value, including presents, should not be left on display.

Install timer switches and set them to make the home look occupied.

Should you want further crime prevention advice please contact your local Neighbourhood policing team. 0845 60 70 999.
